Kinja'd!!!

Remember in high-school when the teacher was the one who picked the members of a group-project? It felt like that.

It feels rushed but acceptable (Like a C+ or a B).

I am not liking it one bit so far. Chris Evans is not funny and Matt is surprisingly weak on camera. He just sounds stiff and not comfortable at all. It also seems like they are forcing the previous hosts personalities onto the new hosts and replicating the jokes with the new hosts. Not sure I’ll watch it again.

I’m going to try and forget the history of Evans I’ve gleaned from growing up with him on TV and try and see him with a fresh open mind.
The chemistry between the hosts will come. It’s like the first few days at school. Your finding your feet, finding your strengths and weaknesses, finding and making friends, etc...

Matt seems good on camera but we need to bare in mind that yes it may be scripted like the old Top Gear, he’s not on a closed set where everyone else around him has their own lines but with a semi-live recorded audience.

All in all I think it’s a good start but like the hosts on the show, Top Gear will be trying to find it’s own feet with a new crew and hopefully for them a new viewing audience while trying to retain the old audience.

Give it a season and we’ll see a gelling of the crew and a show more geared to what the viewing audience are wanting and expecting.
